Mini Grant Step By Step Guide

1.  Mini-grant applications will be reviewed on an annual basis.  Application deadline is October 15 each year.

The Mini-Grant Committee will review all applications received, make funding determinations, and provide feedback to applicants within two to three weeks of the submission deadline.

All applications should be submitted to [email protected] either electronically or via interoffice mail, TFOF, 50 Republic Ave, Topsham, Maine 04086.

In addition to funding new projects, Trust for Our Future will also fund replication of past projects with highly successful outcomes (see Summary of Past Projects as noted above).

2.  Depending on funding availability, there might be a second round of Mini- Grants awarded in mid February.
If funding is available, the application deadline for the second round is January 15
th of each school year and notification of awards will be by the first week of February.

3.  Funding of Mini Grant Projects ranges from $100 - $1,000 and is based on the budget justification submitted in relation to the scope of the project.  Projects that are able to secure a portion of financial support from another source will be given priority scoring for community support.  The Trust does not fund field trips.

4.  Mini Grant recipients must sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreeing to:

-Provide, if asked, up to 2 presentations after completion of the project to school / community groups (i.e. colleagues, PTOs, Trust For Our Future Board, Rotary, etc.)

-Participate in an End of Year Presentation in May

-Keep in contact with your Liaison

-Provide a final written abstract of the project that includes project outcomes

-Ensure Trust for Our Future Release Forms are signed by parents/guardians

-Acknowledge the Trust in all written and oral communications about your project

5.  Applications will be scored based on the following criteria:
- Alignment with the Mission of the TFOF (innovative and engaging)
- Proposed Impact of Project on Student Learning
- Sustainability (does this project have the ability to stand on its own over time?)
- Feasibility (are the outcomes proposed realistic?)
- Budget Justification (does the rationale for expenditures match the scope of the project?)
